Conquistador's Wake: An Archaeological Look at Native American-Spanish Interactions in South Georgia

Join Dr. Dennis Blanton as he discusses two long-running research projects and the elusive archaeological evidence of the first European intrusions into Georgia's Native American realms by conquistador Hernando de Soto.

This ticket does not include access to any exhibits, films, WildWoods and the Forest.  It is valid for the Dennis Blanton lecture only.  

Things to know before you visit:

  • The lecture is on October 1, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. 
  • Tickets are free, online reservation is required and tickets are limited.
  • Have your eTicket(s) ready at the Museum entrance.
  • Check-in will start at 4:15 p.m.
  • Check-in will end and doors will close at 4:45 p.m.
  • Lecture will be held in the F. W. Wilson Theater on the lower level of the Museum.
