Join Drs. Dennis Blanton, Charles Cobb, Ashley Dumas and James Knight for a presentation and panel discussion where they will share recent archaeological discoveries related to Hernando de Soto’s entrada (1539-1543) into the Southeast. 

This ticket does not include access to any exhibits, films, WildWoods or Fernbank Forest. It is valid for the lecture only.  

Things to know before you visit:

  • The lecture is on May 18, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. 
  • Tickets are free, online reservation is required and tickets are limited.
  • Have your eTicket(s) ready at the Museum entrance.
  • Guests without Museum Admission should remain in the Museum lobby until seating is open at 4:15 pm
  • Lecture will be held in the Frances Wood Wilson Theater on the first floor of the Museum.
