Teen Forest Lab: Insects

Join a Fernbank Educator in this hands-on workshop to explore the incredible biodiversity of insects. Participants will get up close and personal with some of Fernbank’s resident insects, while learning more about their complex anatomy and roles in the ecosystem.

  • This 2-hour workshop will take place in Fernbank Forest; the forest terrain is uneven and steep at times. Trails are not ADA accessible.

  • This workshop is scheduled to take place outdoors, so dress for the weather. The workshop will move indoors if needed due to the weather.

  • Water bottle and sunscreen recommended.

  • Wear sturdy, comfortable shoes that are okay to get dirty and wet.

  • In the case that Fernbank must cancel the workshop due to inclement weather, registered participants will be contacted by noon the day prior, and a refund will be issued.

  • Workshop includes general admission.

This workshop is for teens only (13-17 years old). Chaperones are welcome to purchase admission and visit the museum during the workshop but will not be admitted to the class.
